: Finally a dealership that doesn't jerk you around
I bought a 2003 2500 dmax brand new at a dealer in Mass. Had no problems with it until 65,000 miles. SES light comes on and sure enough, the injectors, well just #4. The place I bought it went out of business and a local Chevy dealer took it over. Took it back there, they had it for a week before they called me back to tell me that it was the injector(no S*-t) and they couldn't fix it because they are now strictly Chevy and a GMC dealer would need to fix it. After calling the service guy everything in the book for holding my truck for a week, I started calling around. # GMC dealers didn't want to take it because I didn't buy it there, they said I could drop it off and when they weren't busy with thier customers they would pick away at it. Nice Huh? As a last resort, someone told me to call Moore GMC in Mass. I had never heard of it, it is about 30 miles from my town, a small family run dealership only selling GMC's. Moore GMC took my truck, replaced all 8 injectors no questions or hassles. It only cost me 78 bucks for a new filter, No $100 deductible or anything.
I will be buying my new DMAX when the new bodystyle comes out at Moore GMC. If you Live in Mass. I would highly recommend this dealership. The service guys are professional and they finally made me feel good about dealership service.

Just kidding :D
I'd sure like to find that kind of service out here on the left coast
Maybe that dealer would consider moving?

jbutch83 07-24-2007, 11:48 PM That sounds good, but you should not have been charged for the filter, or anything for that matter. Also, it doesn't matter if it is Chevy or GMC, either dealership can work on it. The ones that told you they wouldn't work on it, didn't want the money or the work.

if that is the case, that would be very great. but i have heard from many other members on here that for some stupid reason(GM of coarse) GMC can only do GMC, and Chevy can only do Chevy. same goes for pontiac, olds., and buick. may be the same exact vehicle, but with a different badge, so they cant work on it. just my thoughts.

The filter was the least of my worries..... I needed someone who could fix my truck...I hope you never need injectors
Ken, you are right on with the badge crap.. Thank you
JBUTCH, you are totally correct about Chevy and GMC, but have you ever been faced with it? and would you let an adverserial dealer, who doesn't want to work on your truck, work on your truck? Everything looks great on paper......
iamrazor 07-25-2007, 01:16 PM Looks like they're in the Danvers area.

I have had injectors done on my truck, late last winter. I do have a GMC, and was taking my truck to the local Chevy dealer, because I have dealt with them in the past, and they have never given me any issues. When they diagnosed my injectors, they advised that the injectors were on back order. Waited over 3 weeks, and still no injectors. Found out that the GMC dealer, that is half a block away, had 10 injectors in stock. They replaced all 8, but they would not go by the Chevy dealers diagnosis. Chevy dealer advised that my balance rates were out of spec, and said they would do the injectors. GMC dealer ran my balance rates, said that they were within spec, but my fuel return rates were high, so they did the injectors. Never paid a dime for the work, and they replaced the fuel filter. I still go to the Chevy dealer for some work, had an axle seal that went bad, and they good willed the repair, even though it was out of warranty. I did find out that the diesel mechanic at the Chevy dealer was a jerk, and at that point, I didn't want him to work on the truck. Talked to the diesel mecahnic at the GMC dealer, real nice guy, went through everything with me, and had the whole job done, including new fuel rail lines to the injectors, done in 8 hours. The Chevy dealer has never given me a hassel about working on my truck, and I would let them work on it more if that had the GMC mechanic working for them.
