: The Truth About Programers -ppe
Duramaximumcrap 07-24-2007, 09:27 AM Talked to PPE the other day and asked for a Tech. After waiting on hold for a long time someone came on that sounded like a kid. He could not answer many of my questions and when I asked for the owner of the company's name he said they were not sapose to give it out???? That did not give me much faith in the company. What's he hiding from? Any way I dont want anyone who is worried about loosing there warrranty to be mislead or not fully informed about any tuner you might buy. I have found out that no tuner is completely undetectable. Meaning they may not see it was in there but when they check things like whats the highest the boost has ever been or past rail pressure or other easily checked things they will positively know there was a tuner in at one time. So if you are worried about loosing your warranty I do not suggest a tuner. It also depends on how picky your local service center is? Many will overlook small problems possibly caused by tuners and do the repair to get there warranty money. But if you had a major engine problem chevy would look into it deeply and then they have to right to refuse the warranty. Worth the risk? I say heck ya!!!!! But thats just me.

Talk to Dan Grant at PPE. He's a great guy! As far as tuners and warranty, just all depends on how good the dealerships are.. Heck my dealer has two brand-new Duramaxes with the power-pup already installed plus a 6inch lift w/ 22" wheels. Most dealers I know will not deny warranty work unless they can prove that the damage is directly linked with the tuner.

Sorry, but the warranty issue is old news. I dropped a valve at 10k mi and my dealer replaced my long block. They never thought twice and neither did the regional rep that came out to inspect it. Before my dealer picked it up on the rollback I removed my tune but left my catalytic converter off and my TTS 4" exhaust on. It ultimately depends on the relationship with your dealer but none the less I think you are making too much out of nothing. Just mod it and enjoy!
ratlover 07-24-2007, 04:22 PM Ummmm.....I have had no problem talking to Joe at PPE when I asked the secretary for him. I find it hard to believe that who ever you talked to wouldnt pass you off to someone higher up the food chain as I have never had this issue.
So is this a review of PPE? If so I can move it into the vendor comments section, if its about tunners in general then it can stay here.
Anyone have any troll food? Thats all this thread is a flame thread. Just look at the user name.
graystonelbz 07-24-2007, 05:09 PM This guy is a dink...I think removing him would be a good idea.

Duramaximumcrap 07-24-2007, 07:10 PM Guys Im not trying to offend anyone, Im just telling you what honestly happened to me. Everyone claims Dan is a great guy but that was not who I talked to. To the troll guy, I live in upper Michigan. Not too many people know what that comments about. I like this site and find it very helpful so If I offended anyone I appoligize. My user name only reflects my greif towards chevy as I picked up my truck again today after being in the shop for another week straight. In the shop 2 out of the past 4 weeks. They replaced the radio and a power window switch this time. It went in for 4wd not working, radio, not working, window acting up, parking asst. acting up. engine light on for the 4th time in 4,000 miles. Now you know why I use the name I do.
graystonelbz 07-24-2007, 07:13 PM Ok, so fill out your signature so we know what truck this all aplies to then.

What is your lemon law in the state u reside in? Sounds like u have surpassed that amount based on the problems you had. Time for them to buy you a new truck! Call an attorney, he'll tell u the same thing 2.

Sounds like more of a GM problem and not the engine IMO. You are bashing the engine for the trucks problems.
Duramaximumcrap 07-25-2007, 12:12 AM I truly love the Duramax engine and I know its hard to tell that from my post but Im just fed up with the constant break downs. (and no I admit its not directly the motor) In my earlier post today I just got the truck back and soon after I got off the phone with Dan from PPE my fricking engine light came on again. (By the way Dan was very helpful) The light being on has nothing to do with the tuner because I did not install it yet. Its always a emissions related code when checked. Dan told me to find out what it is and he is going to try and help me. I am leaving out of town camping (with my engine light on) and when I get back I will post a pic and any other info about the truck in my profile. Thanks guys.

He's got the most important mod yet, Nick!
Unit453 07-25-2007, 12:34 AM I see that...I'd like to make a bet....:D
Duramaximumcrap 07-25-2007, 12:34 AM You like that hu? I got pulled over 2 times and got 2 tickets in 2 days in southern ILL. My radar detector did not even chirp and they got me on laser. So I updated the detector and got the laser jammer. I think its out of Europe. Denmark maybe? Its not legal in the United States. Correction, Its legal to buy and ship here, its legal to install it, but not legal to use it. LOL what a loop hole. Do a search for Radar Roy, (retired cop) that is who I got it from.
Duramaximumcrap 07-25-2007, 12:35 AM Whats the bet?
Unit453 07-25-2007, 12:38 AM Oh nevermind....:D
Does it work for you?
Duramaximumcrap 07-25-2007, 12:49 AM What the directions tell you to do is this. When it goes off you brake and drop to legal speed limit and when at that speed flip the switch off. You do not want him to figure out the gun was jammed because of you.The laser gun then clears and the average cop will never figure it out because they are not trained to know this because very very few cars in the united states will have this. They think the gun just had a temp glitch. They will figure it out sooner or later Im sure. It has went off a few times on the highway and I did what it said and was never pulled over. I was at least 20 over each time it went off. It only blocks Laser, not radar. But all guns in the future will be laser as they get updated.

Key word there...:D
Some of those average cops have to go to RADAR and LIDAR instructors courses....:D

Seriously, that sounds like it might be worth it's purchase price. Get out of a few tickets and it is paid for.

I'm calling BS. I've never seen a Laser or Radar jammer smaller than a sofa that actually works... And I think I've seen 'em all.

Sorry I took so long to respond, I thought this thread went dead. Oh, the laser jammer works and you can see test results by many companies that have tested it. A radar jammer does not work. Why would I lie about someones product? Unless I was making money on it I would positively post a bad report on it if it did not work. Nothig to gain by not telling the truth.

Do you have a link to the test results or the mfg website?
Duramaximumcrap 09-03-2007, 11:21 PM The only one that comes to mind (it's been a while) Is Radar Roy. I believe he posted test results on his site? If I remember right and you do a search on Blinder extreme you will find other reports. Hope that helps.
