I went to the stealer yesterday and bought this for 28 frigging bucks. I thought that was steep and I told em that but they said they dont make any $ on filters. Is this too high? They also said to change it every 20-30,000 miles. I thought this was way toooooo long.

I go to a truck parts dealer whom handles Allison parts called WESTRUX. They charge $12.69 each.

They verified thats the part number and charged me 9.00 for the filter.

What about their recomendation for changing it out every 20-30k miles. Seems high to me.

I change my Alllison Spin on every 7500 miles........

$8.67 for Allison spin on filter from local Allison dealer (Stewart & Stevenson)... You got robbed.

Tell the Stealer to keep the money and give you 2 more filters. Change them more regularly than he suggest, for sure.

I was charged the same at my dealer. Got home and got thinking about it and took it back the next day and ordered some off the internet. About $9.00 each. Dealer gave me the same song and dance.

It's actually kinda funny....my parts guys sees me and decides what he's gunna charge........He knows me, and likes me because I always walk in with part numbers.......Go figure.....:ro)

I hate it when the stealers say that they aren't making any money off of it. If they didn't make any money off of it, they wouldn't be in business. just my $.02

GM cost on the filters when purchased through SPO is substantially higher then even what the high end allison dealers charge
