guys i dont race the truck my brother does it is my old daily driver that got turned into a race truck.the 10.5 were run a year ago with basically stock engine except tts rods and kennedy injects and dual pumps...as far as motor it made over 25 10 second passes before it was rebuilt, now that we have built the motor trannys holding are the biggest issue but that is coming very soon

Thats awesome! So tts rods; dual pumps, and kennedy injects is all u need to get in the 10's! Apparently all these guys w/ 350hp+ tuners and twin-turbos havent figured this out!

A good suspention and alot of tuning, TTS tuning, some other tweaks and a whole lota giggle gas. I've seen Jess and Bucks truck a few times and it realy isnt all that wild or running crazy stuff. Its just a good combo of parts and smart guys that :grd: at the track.

Yeah it is. There was an article about Buck and Jess (king d and n20dmax on here) in Diesel Power several months ago. I remember reading it. I believe you're thinking of another truck out of Idaho that was featured in the July issue. As far as I know that truck has never been to the track. I think it's more of a show truck/dyno queen anyway (lambo doors -:t).

Here's the article about the truck in the video. http://www.dieselpowermag.com/features/chevy/0610dp_custom_2003_chevrolet_silverado_duramax/index.html

Just a quick question :

Once you get one of these trucks down in the 10-11 second range.......obviously a lot has to be done to the motor and trans. !! But what about the transfer case, rear end, drive shaft, front axles, etc ? Do the stock parts hold up to that kind of hp/tq or do these guys have to upgrade all that stuff also ??

Thanks-

Slick

Tranny's seem to be the main issue now. Most of the big power trucks aren't able to get many passes in before smoking the trans.

I think the reason we haven't broke a trans in over 500 passes is that I just run a tow tune. ;)

Sheez, can I have a copy of your "Tow Tune?" My transmission is built with ATS bits just in case I need it!

If you had more salad you wouldn't need to eat all the NOS's out of that alphabet soup.

I tow with my race tune also........but are you trying to convince us that you can actually tow (a real load) with the 42 ???????? If so, I am extremely impressed!!!........and I'm not talking about pulling 5K across town  ......I think I know the answer but some readers might be mislead here. Clarify??

McRat

No, I would not recommend a GT4202 for towing heavy or at altitude.

But it can be done. Just keep RPM over 2100 at all times.

At that time I'll require that all posts be of a "strictly" technical nature and not criticizing anyone.

I'll also add that Steve can not ask, imply, or refer anything Pat related. Pat will have the same rules concerning Steve. Anyone else jumps in or if one of these guys misses my point and there will be time off given.
