i installed a kicker l7 12 with a memphis 1000d amp i used the
pac aoem gm-24 audio interface, there is a buzzing coming through the
sub, when i wurn the volume up it stays the same but when i turn
up the gain it gets louder.
i had problems with the connector initially with the same noise through
the door speakers only louder, it was a loose connection in the pac
connector, i adjusted the pins and its quiet but now im getting the
same thing through the sub..... is this connector just too much of a
pita to deal with?
it also sounds like crap unless the bass on the bose head unit is
almost all the way down, am i just getting too much gain and causing
distortion or is something else screwed up

You have to have a common ground in your audio setup... the noise you are hearing is called a ground loop and is more than likely alternator noise.

doe you still have a noise in your door speakers even if it is minute?? Or has it been strickly issolated to the subwoofer amp???

no noise through the doors, talked to a guy at an audio store and he says its on star, im not buyin it
i have the amp grounded to the cab via the seat belt mounting bolt, where should i ground it to?
is there a way to ground the interface?
any ideas on the bass that sounds like its coming from a walmart 12?

You should pick one spot on the vehicle to ground all the audio components to. This will avoid the whoop whoop whoop sound that a ground loop is famous for. It is ABSOLUTELY necessary! Does the noise increase in frequency when rpm's climb? If you answer yes, the installer should have his PP slapped... that is basic Car Audio 101http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif

the only thing i have added is the amp/sub there arent multiple grounds except for the stock h/u and amp...
the noise is a consistant buzz that only changes volume when i adjust
the bass on the radio or the remote gain control for the amp

Try changing the B- ground from your amplifier to the same ground that the H/U uses. Or try grounding to a different location on the frame.
If the noise lessens to any degree, that is your problem. Try listening with the truck running and not running but with key turned on fully.
If it was BLONDESTAR causing the problem the noise will persist with ignition key in any position. If it is a GLoop or other RFI problem it will show up only when the engine is running.

The first place i would start is to make sure you have a clean ground for your amplifier. This mean scraping paint off of the body.....
If this doe not solve the problem i will walk you thru the autosound 2000 steps for locking the issue......

One thing to look at...did you run your RCAs and power wire together? I had a car that the stereo shop routed them together and caused the buzzing you are talking about. Just something else to think about.

A really high quality patch cord they say you canwrap around your altenator and not get noise.....

i got my sub back, i also invested in a high end line out converter and
scrapped the pac interface.... sounds clean and tight, now i have to
break the sub in to really see how it will perform
