Hey guys, still on my search for my non gas 2500 and stumbled across a 03 4x4 crew that was bought by a RV dealership for customer delivery in 03. It has now 77K on it and they stated via email that it was bought new and service by them as they service all the big $$$ class A motor-homes they sell.

So my question to all you LB7 owners, is 77K going to provide me with a truck that my family and I can depend on for sometime or should I look elsewhere. It is setup for towing, brake controller, 5th wheel, 45 gallon tank, air ride rear. All this for $27K.

Sounds like a decent deal if you need all the xtras that are on that truck.
77k mi is not that many. Only have 65k mi on my 02 now, but the last 40k mi have been put on by me/wife since Mar 06. Other than NSBU switch (2 actually, 1st one was defective and only lasted about 6mo), and 1 power window the truck has been flawless.
01-03, injectors are warrantied for 7yr/200k mi, of which you have around 3 yrs left on warranty.
Engine is 5yr/100k, so you probably have a little warranty on that still. Enough to repair any pre-existing engine problem you might not catch.
Reading up on the LB7 problems, that appears to be the only real worry.
If $27k is thier asking price, you may be able to get it a little cheaper, in which case it becomes a real good deal.

Sounds good guys, I wanted to get 1 year newer at least from my 02, I figured 77 wasn't bad and I can use the 45 gallon tank and a toyhauler is in my future as well so the pre-installed 5th wheel is a plus. Now what to do with the 2 trades I know their not going to need or want.

I have almost 80,000 on my 04 LB7. If the truck checks out, sounds like a good deal to me.

The truck sounds fine, but you should be about 5K less on price. With all of the goodies and where it is coming from, you probably need to asume that most if not all of those miles are towing miles. As soon as mine hit 100K miles, it started to become a little bit of a money pit (stuff it was demanding, not what I was wanting to put into it), but it is still cheaper to fix and keep running than to take the depreciation hit from a new one. Good luck.

I have 183000kms (114000miles) on my 01 GMC 4x4 2500HD. So far it is working great. Bought it 2 years ago with 142000kms (88k miles) on it. It had computer/transmission problems near the beginning of its life (I knew the previous owner) but they swapped out the computer and it has been fine so far. Both window motors and cables were replaced. I got my 2001 1.5 years ago for 18KCAD. You should definiately try and get that price lower but I think you will be happy.

Great tow vehicle. I like how the back end doens't sag waaaay down like some of the big fords do. Had two full pallets of bricks in the bed and the springs hardly moved. sweet.

Good luck.
