Well me and a buddy took off his stock roof rack from his Denali to be replaced with the Escalade roof rack and decided to cut his old rack to fit on top of my truck. I am going to paint the end caps to match my truck and keep the rest black. I will post pics as soon as I get it finished. Tell me what you think of this idea.

Some of the half ton crew cabs have that as a GM option. You could look at them incase you werent sure whether or not that would look good. I think it makes them look like some sorta crossover truck/suv.

Not trying to put you down, please don't take it that way. Isn't the stock roof height of a 2500-3500 already like 6.5'? That's a ways in the air to be lifting anything.

You can use an Avalanche roof rack kit to acheive the same thing. Do a search and you will see pics. I have the kit, just need time to install it. It fits great and looks like it belongs there.

well I put it on with 3M tape for now to see if that is what I really want before I drill holes. I will post pics tomorrow.

I have considered this before. These are big trucks, but storage can be lacking at times. I finally decided that I was not going to because it would look silly, but I'd very much like to see what yours looks like. I never saw one and just assumed it would look bad.

You want to see real working racks on 3/4 to 1 tone trucks Google some photos of the Chase trucks used in the Baja or Score desert races. Spare tires, fuel cans (personal effects and duffels get held way up on top.

x2 Just doesn't look like it belongs there.... maybe a whole truck/cab pic would give a better idea :confuzeld

can anyone say if it would hold up to a 35" spare tire? Load capacity?

Not exactly what your talking about, but that's an H2 up there, 34.5" tire.

Sorry it took me so long to get pics up but here it is. It has kind of grown on me and I think I am going to have it permanently drilled down instead of just the 3m tape.
