Ask in the Power And Performance thread. Others have done this I believe. There is a way around setting a code off.
You can run a CAT back without problems.
The guys who are getting lights are the ones with the CA emission trucks and that includes folks in some of the North Eastern States which use that standard, and who have eliminated the CAT. There's not enough back pressure on the exhaust to create adequate EGR flow without the CAT so it sets a code.
The regular Federal Emission package is the same, but it does not set an SES light when the insufficient EGR flow code is set like the CA emission trucks. There's usually a code set, but no light.

What is a CAT back?
From the CATalitic converter back. The CATalitic converter is left on and the exhaust goes on from there.
