Does anyone own a PPE Duramax HOT+2 LLY & LBZ Xcellerator 2006-2007 (350HP tune)? I was reading Diesel Power magazine and they did an article on the 290HP tune. During the dyno test the article says, "...only a few seconds into the dyno run, and the truck was already turning day into night...at peak power the smoke was intense..." I'm thinking of purchasing the 350HP tuner but wanted to see what your guy's opinion is before I do. Thanks in advance.

Besides EFI live, PPE is probably your best bet for power. It's probably the best canned tune out there. I kinda wish I went with one.

My friend runs the Hot+2 with the Duramaximizer and Boost controller, and it will roll the coal. With only the hot +2 on level 6 it still smokes more than any other tune I have seen on an LBZ.

With our big tunes you get BIG smoke....

Even the 4000 is too small for that tune! Also, what is your elevation? With the 4000 and 350hp tune there is way too much timing for me. I am at 6000 feet and the truck starts to sound like a '96 powerjoke with the rattle and clatter.

P.S. It ran REALLY well in Phoenix, about 800-1000 feet where I was.

I pulled with mine on a stock tranny this weekend on level 6. I was smoking way less than a predator on 120. I smoked quite a bit when I first started going, then it clean up some. Level 1 and 2 smoke some, not very much. Level three leaves a trail going down the road when accelerating hard. Until the tranny gets done, I won't go above level three on the road.

How did that work out?

Pulling on level 6 seemed to go OK. Didn't seem to slip and shifted fairly smooth. I eased into it until it took third then nailed it. I did drive very gently for about 50 miles on level 6 before the pull. Just barely touching the throttle.

Not very well. Seven total trucks, two classes. 5th in one class 6th in the other. I think it is mostly tires, but am not sure.

Man, I must be doing something wrong. I've been on level 5 for 13,000 miles now, and only get the smoke show for about 1/2 second. If I roll on it from 70mph I'll get a pretty good show until she kicks down a gear. If I launch at the drags, I get a puff off the line and another on every shift. When I pull she only lets out a puff off the line! When the boost controller was installed it cleaned up most of the smoke that I had. Look in my pic's you can see she hardly smokes at all.

Are your windows tinted dark..Mine are you got to roll em down to get the full effect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many pounds of boost are you guys getting with the PPE?

I get about 25 psi without the boost controller.
