I've been considering a louvered tailgate for hauling my 5er but recently have seen some folks using a hunk of 2x material and thought that would probably work at a fraction of the cost. Any opinions, pros or cons?

I've seen nets and low profile aluminum tool box's on some in campgrounds.

I use a 5er net. Cost about $60. Put wood in the bed rear slots to keep stuff from falling out. Before that just left the tailgate home, for two weeks who needs it.

dont use the tailgate for my 5er...im that close to my gvwr..lol
