I want to get a set of tires for the winter, the only problem is the tire I want is only offered in a load range C. I plow snow in the winter and was wondering if it can handle the weight of the plow or do I need to go with D or E range? Thanks.

I wouldnt get C range tires. I have put a set on a Duramax before and they only lasted about half as long as they should. Go with D or E range tires.

I know quite a few guys plowing with the cooper M+S series. well liked at http://www.snowplowing-contractors.com/forums/index.php (http://www.snowplowing-contractors.com/forums/index.php)

take a look in the general snow plowing forum for a reccent post about bfg comercial ta's and do some searching on coopers

They wont wear well just becasue they are winter tires and very soft.

I am still considering running 2 sets but I drive alot of miles even in the winter and think they may go fast

Goodyear has a steel sidewall tire called G133, commercial grade and rough tread. Michelin's version is XPS traction. Count on $200 per out the door. If you want info on the goodyear, go to a commercial (truck) dealer, the car tire dealers don't have them in their books.
