Hello all, appreciate any info i can get on this problem i have been having with a 2003 GMC 3500 6.6 duramax w/allison tranny. First off i purchased the truck used it has the edge chip and the tranny has been redone by ATS diesel-TC/heavy clutches etc.. Now the problem part went to to drive it and gave me "range shift inhibited" in reverse, worked fine in forward just reverse...replaced NSBU switch...no change pulled codes for 2nd gear ratio, tcc circuit, an tranny code I think p0700. replaced switch, new spin filter, no change....Now unplugged the wiring harness from the the rear of the tranny and took out the co-pilot wiring pigtail and ran the factory wiring harness back into the rear of the tranny....now have reverse and forward gears but occasioanlly when you let off the gas and or coast the the tranny will read its in neutral and get range shift inhibited in drive......reverse now works fine :-( pulled codes and no tranny codes now get a C0327 code encoder error...I believe i have a short or open ground somewhere that is messing up the transmission commands...when i first put the wiring harness back to factory everything worked super, had the tranny checked it is locking up like it should, shift pressure good..everything mech on the tranny seems good...would a short or open ground in the encoder cause a shift problem??
