: Deep Water?

When it rains, it floods--at least in Vegas. Drove through some pretty deep water yesterday and I'm wondering if there are any vents of any kind on the front or rear differentials where water might leak in and cause awfull things to happen to my diffs. Should I drain them?

Thanks!

how deep is deep and how fast were you going? Have you done your drain of your front and rear diff anyway and transfer case from when you first bought it or is it on a factory fill? Edited by: ratlover

I've already done the drain and refill, and the water was pretty deep--regular cars were up to the floorboards.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif

Not deep enough to get into the vents. They are located high. I
wouldn't worry too much. If you want, you can stick your finger into
the fill hole and see if the oil is milky. If so, water got in.
