Has anyone swapped the rear window with the defroster for a slider? I plan to purchase a slide in camper in the future and would like a slider window (with the power option) instead of the defroster.
Is it a do-it-yourself or better left to a shop to keep from getting leaks?
Thanks again for the great info and contributions from folks on the site!:thankyou2 :saluteusa: :chevy:

Leave it to the pro's. It's quite a job if you don't know what you're doing, and without the proper tools/materials.

x2 on having a shop do it. unless your really intent on learning the right way of doing it. other then that paying a few extra bucks and having a gaurentee of no leaks is nice. sucks to come out to a truck with a set carpet, or worse not knowing its leaking

I plan on doing this as well. Who do you recommend doing it? I certainly don't want to pay the dealer to do it as that will cost me an arm and a leg.

My experience is that most dealers contract this out to local shops also.

Correct. Contact your local auto glass shop.
