Any one ever use one of these in the winter when it is really cold? Ever have any problems with Gelling or anything? I am from NE but originally from MN and head to Canada once and a while to go ice fishing. Am wondering about really cold weather preformance, I will be using additives and blended fuel but when it is -30 with a 30mph wind I want my Dmax to run. just looking for some insight and experience

Change your settings to show all topics for the last year. On the second page, you will see a topic titled "Cold weather updates" or something to that effect.

My browser has problems with this forum and the tsb forum. It won't allow me to change how far back I can view posts on this one and the tsb one won't show any new posts.

I've had mine in -20 F. Had winter cover on (grill only), winter fuel blend, FPPF additive. Takes awhile to warm up. Probably should have had bumper cover on too. I'd make sure ya got good batteries. Plug it in if ya can. I would'nt be afraid.

I have been in -40F weather and started with no problems (last year) so long as you have the additives, I figure you should be OK.
However if you have a fuel filter lacking a built in heater, you could get a wax build up.
One year I had a frozen gas line, had to jack up the car, put my colman stove under it (lite of course), and cover up the car with a tarp. After 3hr. every thing was fine.

I haven't been in sub-zero temps yet (almost, but not quite), but I've driven through a blizzard with no problems. I use a plastic shield to prevent snow, mud, whatever, from building up on the filter and housing.
