With 16's how wide of a tire can the stock rim handle? I don't know much about tires and rims since I have never been into spending that much money in that area. I'm looking for a wider tire for a better look, so how wide can I go with stock rims? 265's will be the tire size of choice, so I am sure that will affect tire width for rubbing etc. Thanks

265/75R-16 tires on stock rims will fit your truck with no mods at all.

However, keep in mind that the design rim width for 265 tires is 7.0 to 8.0 inches and the stock rims on a 2500HD are 6.5 inches wide.

You can get stock 16'' x 7'' rims from a 3500 SRW (single rear wheels) and they will bolt on with no issues at all.

Did you have to crank up your torsion bars or did you leave them stock?

Are you getting any rubbing at all?

crank t-bars is all. no rubbing on mine but every truck seems to be a little different with 285s some may need a little trim job and others like mine dont.

IMO 285 is pushing the envelope. I'd stick with 265 on stock rims.
