I forgot to order some Baldwin FF's from Kennedy and I am making a trip to New Orleans Thursday so off to the parts store I go. I asked for a WIX 33810 which I have used before. He said he did not have it in stock but then told me that my truck calls for a 33910. I asked to see it. It looked a little different than what I was used to. It had the stepped lower side like the last Baldwin but the top threaded area was black in color instead of beige and had larger but fewer holes in it. When he told me that it was $45 I said no way! I can get a AC Delco at $33 from the dealer. (Still too high but it is $12 cheaper). I went to dealer and low and behold the filter looked identical but was painted blue.
Now...If I can only remember to order extras in advance.

The Wix/Napa filter is definitely pricey; they have upgraded it to the dual pleat system.
When you get your AC Delco filter, make sure you're getting the new dual pleat upgraded filter. Both styles are still available.
If you don't mind ordering the parts, try a guy in Indiana who has a business called Lubrication Specialist; he might be a sponsor of this site? Anyway, he has the new updated dual pleat filters (PFF5544) for around $28 or so as of today. You can find him at www.lubricationspecialist.com or 888-306-4255. I think his name is Greg. I've talked with him on the phone; he's very polite and knowledgeable.

The AC Delco is the latest design. I found rockauto.com has the WIX33910 for $26.89 but like I said I was in a crunch for time and did not want to be 600 miles from home without a spare.:o:

That's who I get mine from too, and he is a vendor on this site.
