I am swapping a 6.2 with 6.5 turbo set-up into a 1976 Jeep J20. I want to run a 5spd behind this.

I have found a 1991 s-10 with a 5spd and 4cyl for CHEAP. I am wondering what tranny this has behind it, and will it hold up to the torque/power of my motor combo.

Not sure the name of the tranny but in 91 I think they were still using the Iron Duke 2.5L 4cyl and that only had 100HP max so I think finding one behind a 4.3 would be the best. There is one near me for $400 that I was thinking of getting.

I had a couple of those S 10's with 5 speed. It's called a "T-5". Lots of info on the net if you google it. There were two types, the standard and the "world class" that came behind Hi-Po V-8's in Mustangs and the sort. IIRC, all of them beyond a certain year were "world class". Both of mine had leak problems with the inside the bell housing mounted slave cylinder.
Not sure there is a bell housing you can get to mount to a 6.2

Edit: I believe there were some Camaro/Firebird with T-5's behind the small block V 8 in the mid 80's, might get a bellhousing there.
