: How do you run your EDGE?
05LLY2500HD 10-27-2004, 07:36 PM I was wondering how most of you guys run the Edge as far as settings and all. Daily driving and what you might adjust when you pull up to a "victim".
I currently keep mine on lvl 4, low boost 5, defuel all for daily driving. I have tried the different settings some, all in level 4. Haven't quite got the defueling or the low boost figured out as far the best in performance and what's best for daily driving. Oh, and does anyone know or have an opinion on how accurate the Attitude is as far as 0-60 and 1/4 mile times?
Thanks to all.
killerbee 10-27-2004, 08:00 PM same as you, except defuel on 4-5 shifts only. Level 5 feels like it's tough on the hardware, I like 3 0r 4. Also egt defuel at 1200. Alerts suck, i turned them off.
tbone1227 10-27-2004, 08:04 PM Stacked with a downloader or pcm - edge / attitude on level 5, low boost on 4, no defuel http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
Max Power 10-27-2004, 08:06 PM I would run level 5 if it didn't smoke so much. I like smoke but level 5 is just too much smoke during normal driving. (on LLY) When I had my LB7 I ran it on level 5 all the time even when I went to the hot juice.
I run level 4 daily. I used to run level 3 but it doesn't have enough power for me and it was too far of a jump for the transmission to level 5.
I run defuel on all locked shifts but I don't like the 2-3 shift so I might change it to 4-5 only.
Perhaps I shouldnt be jumping in here because mine is still an infant w/ only 850 miles on her. Ive tried 1,2 and 3 but have yet to defuel any other than 4-5. I havnt really hammerd hard on the truck yet. But the short hard throttle burst I have done I can feel considerable Differance from 1 to2to 3. Just sportin around Im keeping mine on 1 for now after a few more miles im sure It and I will want more. One consern I have though is that if I run all around town on Level 4 or 5 it may not be as awsome a hit to just go up there and playhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif. I keep my 03 on 4 always and never comes down. I didnt do Exaust. cold air or attitude on my 03. Perhaps thats why my 05 feels pretty damb good on 1 besides the extra torque at 605 and HP.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif
Got Juice? 10-27-2004, 08:23 PM With my new trans, 5x5 on my JCJAT and 4x4 on the power pup stacked, no defuel, no speed limiter, mondo smoke factory no fear no limits and tape over the pyro.... mind you that is when i am sheephunting or 'horsewhipping' http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif
Towing is a different story....less power of course, unless i am in a real hurry.
Or there is always the VanAAken 'stoopid' box to use.... lol +180-'stock'-'stoopid'
That one is fun to go hunting with too... but less smoke
ratlover 10-28-2004, 10:21 AM JMO but the bouncing around between levels is a bad idea when you find a "victim".JMO but it confuses the ally. When I had my stock trans on my LB7 I ran around in level 4(90hp) daily. Low boost fueling on 5. Got the trans done and got it upgraded to HOT and ran around daily with it set to kill.
TTS set to kill now.....she smokes a tadhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
tbone1227 10-28-2004, 10:49 AM ditto what ratlover said - set it and forget it !! too much playing around isnt good for the performance, find out what works and leave it
Max Power 10-28-2004, 10:53 AM I agree that the tranny doesn't like switching levels but level 5 is just no acceptable for daily driving in my opinion. It will fog out a whole lane when you least expect it. I would definately run level 5 daily if it was a little more refined like the LB7.
Blinky 10-28-2004, 10:56 AM Level 5, no defuel all shifts, Low boost 5.
I will however, turn it down to "0" when its raining.......
tbone1227 10-28-2004, 11:03 AM LOL - screw the folks behind me, just hammer it and fog em out http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif
ratlover 10-28-2004, 11:18 AM Drive a TTS equiped LB7 and tell me about fogging traffichttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif. I like smoke every now and then but generally I do find it anoying(http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif did I just say that???) I duno about least expecting it though, I know when its coming even if the poor suckers behind me donthttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif You punch it or roll on the loud pedal and its coming, deal is it takes very little throttle to match or out run the normal flow of traffic so its generally controlabale. The main reason I dont like it is if I get stupid there is a long trail that may as well be a light up finger pointing right at me letting anyone(like the fuzz) who just got all over it. Draws unwanted attention. I turn it down(and did with the edge) when i get on the highway to make the cruise more civil, the higher the setting the more pissy cruise controll gets. Sometimes in the rain too.
05LLY2500HD 10-29-2004, 12:45 PM Thanks for the replies, guys. Think I'm gonna leave her on 4 and not switch around. I want more power now. It is addicting.
