I recently purchased a tech 2 and allthough I realize it is the best scan tool for the D max I am having a hard time rationalizing the close to 3000 I spent for it. I am having a specific problem with my truck and believe I need snap shot capabilities to find it. Can anyone give me any opinions or known info on say the Snap-on 2500 or Mac Mentor or Genesis. All can be purchased for far less than a tech 2 and I know they can't do what a tech 2 can but, I am hoping I can use one to find my problem. The problem is posted in Trans forum under " stage 5 and still having problems".

I tried to find a local shop to chase the problem but for the cost I'm figuring based on there prices, I can just about buy one of the Generic scanners. Any info on these scanners or another would be appreciated. Maybe some insight on what you can and can't do with them compared to a tech 2. Thanks.Edited by: Murray the Cop

Sounds like it dont matter how much the others are if you already got a Tech-2 purchased...

Clear the TAPS for the problems shifts and see what happens
