:D I was wondering what kind of oil psi other LB7 owners see when hot? Mine seems kinda low 7-9psi @ idle and 30ish when driving. Has Amsoil 15w40 syn. and filtratration solutions FS-2500. Give me some feed back!!!:D

Hmmm, sounds low to me. Mine runs 25-30psi at idle and 65-70psi while I am driving. I am running 15w40 Rotella T oil.

Change the oil sender and see if that fixes the problem.

~40 at Idle, ~70 at hwy speeds

Redline Synthetic 15w -40, 136K miles

I would replace sending unit as Brad stated.

Mine is anywhere from 20 to 40 at idle and usually around 60 at highway speeds.

Thanks for the replies guys, i agree it seems low but i'm not having an low psi symptoms or troubles, the bypass filter had no affect on psi after i put it on.
i was concerned about the sender myself, i belive chev. has had some sender issues in the past. I took it to a dealership few months ago with the concern of fuel in the oil smell and knew about the injector prob. All the normal test were performed output, return rate, etc. and all was good, it happened to have gotten the updated inj. 20k ago. i just thought the oil had smelled a little fuelie comared to all the other diesels i've owned. the tech there, sopposedlly is the diesel guy to see and i ask him about the psi, he replied that it was normal and d-maxes don't carry that much psi. my faith in him is slipping now talking to u guys. Runs fine, ill try to get video up tonight so u can judge for ur selves. THANK YOU GUYS!!!

80 psi at startup and when driving before operating temp is normal. 60 to 80 highway doing 55 to 70 and 45 at idle when all warmed up. Running Shell Rotella T 15W-40 with NAPA gold filter. I'm changing oil this week after putting over 5000 miles on her sionce April and a few long trips fishing around Alaska, her blood is a little to black for my taste.

I think i've had something wrong with mine. I might be paranoid but Iknow what fuel in the oil can do as I work on large diesel engines, and last time I had mine in for injectors they filled my motor up full of diesel, drained it out gave it back to me, by the time I got to my shop it filled the motor up full of fuel again and i lost pressure. I shut it off had them tow it back, and they put 8 more injectors in suposedofly. now when its warmed up at idle i've got about 23psi, 1500rpm about 32psi, 2000rpm about 40psi and 3krpm about 53psi

mine runs 30 hot idle and 55-60 down the road w/ rot-t oil 15w50.i would say u have fuel in the oil or large brg clearance? ck sender first,or go manual gauge, the gm ones suck.

I checked aval. on the sender, looks like a dealer item. I just gonna verify psi with an ext. gauge to be sure. You guys know where the sender is at? I looked on alldata and dosn't give a good pic at all. I don't think ive got any clearance probs in any parts, nothing sounds strange. Any of u had probs. with updated inj. or after fueling chips put in? I still have fuel smell in the oil. I've heard when an inj. fails the engine fills up quick, any of u experianced a slower leak or fuel from elsewere? Thanks fior the help!!!

did they checked for cracked sleeves when they put the last set of injectors in?

Not sure i wasn't the owner of the truck when the sopposed new ones were installed. is there a way i can i can check this stuff my self? I prefer to do my own work anyway. It's my daily driver though and i don't have time to have id down long. Hopefully a manuel gage proves the factory wrong. its prob. around 10ish hot idle, the bypass filter has to have some effect since it feeds from the oil psi galley

30 at idle 65 at hiway
Series 3000 Amsoil
I think it's the best oil I have ever run, I change it once a year 10-12K mileage in a year, I've gotten the best MPG .....16.8 average and 9-11 towing, towing at 78 mph.

Thanks for the help guys. I installed the mechanical pressure gauge proving sending is bad.

So it was an indication problem and not a real problem with the pressure?

Ya, i hope! Hot (195*F) around 15psi at idle, can't see the gauge its under the truck goes up with rpm. still a little low but the bypass filter has to be sappin some psi though, and still keepin a close eye on oil level if it could still have a slow leak of fuel to it. I need to sample it for oil evaluation to see if its ok. I need a way to check fuel flow to see if there is a leak.
