What other chips have you tried and compared to make this statement? What were the differences?, period of time? , the conditions you tested in? towing? milage? performance?

blackbeast, I can tell you that I have the PPE and it rocks.............no problems what-so-ever.............mileage is great too.......just keep your right foot under control. I tried the Edge as a beta tester and had horrible results towing a 12,000 lb trailer. I sent it back to the manufacturer. I know the Edge is still under development, but I expected better results.

Just plug the unit in under the dash (OBD2 port) answer some question on tuner level, tire size, speed limiter and in about 3 min you are ready to enjoy you NEW truck.....

Let me now if you have any more questions..

Dan,

Can you use this unit in conjuction with the attitude monitor? Since it's just a monitor... at least I think.

Hey Dan, talked to you earlier this week and I ordered my Xcelerator from Gaylon here in Little Rock, Arkansas. Can I use my outlook monitor off my triple dog to monitor speed, boost, egt, etc? Also do u have to pull fuses when your plugging up the tuner?

Tigeman,

You can use the attitude for gauges as long as it does not have timing build in when you are at level 0.

Salmandmx,

Yes as long as it does no interfear with our tuning...

I recommend pulling the fuses but it is not necessary.

Dan, do you leave this plugged in or do you unplug it after you set what level you want?

Buy the PPE. I didn't realize how fast it was on level 4 untill I raced my buddy with the same truck with no mods. He thinks something is wrong with his truck because I told him mine was stock.

I don't run my truck that hard very much, but it seems when you do, it regens alot more. You get to know that regen smell. I have never had a tuner before so I have nothing to compare it too. I will probably go with EFI once they figure the DPF out. I want to straight pipe it. Maybe PPE will figure the DPF out too and I will keep it. I have not had one issue in 6 weeks with the PPE on level 4. The truck runs awsome, other then that smell.

My PPE Xcelerator comes in 2mrow. My tripledog improved the mpgs on my lbz by 2mpg's when driving normal. The PPE is also suppose to do this as well. Granted u dont drive like an idiot. Which goes onto my 2nd question. If u are running a tuner that is suppose to improve your mpg BUT its causing u to regen more often than normal which hurts ur mpgs than doesnt your overall fuel economy gona drop?

I do not plan any other modifications at this time, just a tuner.
Is that a problem?

Nothing else is required, just the tuner...

When you run the truck hard, it's going to regen more. Fuel Mileage to me isn't that important. I need a truck and can't really do much about it. I still drive my 02 and can't see that much diff between the 2.

What do you mean when you say "regen"??

What do you mean when you say "regen"??

All the newer trucks 07.5 and on have a diesel particulate filter that traps soot therefore unlike previous diesels these things DO NOT smoke. The inside of the tailpipe is the same color as the outside. So when the DPF collects a certain amount of ash, the exhaust heats up to around 1000 degrees F to burn off all the ash. That process is called regen aka regeneration. It takes 20 minutes and it can only be done at speeds 30mph or more for 20 minutes. If the cycle doesn't finish then it will continue where it left off. You really can't even notice it. Your rpm's tend to run a little high, but not much though.

FYI PPE has the hot unlock as well for an additional 35 or so HP 260 totall, P.S Dan when are you boys @ PPE releasing that exhaust that actually functions with the comp?

Hey Dan,
I lurk around on the forums and have been reading a lot about the different tuners. After doing my research I have decided to get the Xcelerator Tuner. What I would like to know is, if i purchase this tuner now will i be able to upgrade it to allow for the future DPF delete? Thanks
