Hey whats up, I have a question for everybody. I have a 02 Lexus IS300 im selling it so I can finally get my dream truck the Chevy cc Duramax. But I dont know wich to get. The LLY, it has more power and tourqe wich is always good, but I been hearing the LB7's are quicker. I want wich ever will be quicker, is one exhaust louder than the other , and best of all the one that will smoke the most. I dont know to much about Diesels this will be my first one. Thanks for the input.

First off, look around and you should see what you're looking for.
However, It might help if you state what you plan to do with your truck? I mean ... is it a show or go truck? er.... will you haul anything in excess of 5,000 lbs? What about 4x4 and the rest...... We'll need something to hook into before we start reeling ya in. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Sorry about that it will be 4x4, daily driver I plan the do a tranny upgrade, Programer im not sure wich one yet, Exhaust, Either a Full Throttle 12 inch lift with 38's or a Kelderman adjustable air bags 5-13 inch lift with 38's, and 18in rims. I will be doing very little towing just a ski boat here and there. I will also be doing a huge stereo system 4 JL Audio 10w7s and two JL 1000/1 on bass, and alot of screens. I want the truck to be able to smoke those big 38's no problem. Ive had two tahoes with 9 inch lifts and they were just slow as hell. its all about the Chevy Duramax. I can not wait, to get my truck.

The LLY is a good truck but the LB7 seems to have more bottom end grunt torque. The LLy seems to pull harder on the top end IMO. If your looking for a new truck i think it would be hard to find a LB7 still around. The LLYs just need alittle more boost than the LB7 and then they come to life.
Hum...
You don't say if you're looking at new or used? If you are looking used then there are not that many LLYs for you to consider since they've only been built since Jan. '04.
If you're talking new, then you don't have an option...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif

I had a fabtech lift and 39'' MT's and it ran 14.1 in 2wd with the edge attitude and predator stacked.. You'll be able to smoke them very easy... I just have to give you a little warning.. Once you go fast in a diesel, it gets addictive.. Try the speed first, then go lifted if you then feel the need.. I got the faster bug and took the suspension lift off... I now run 35's...

Damm, Morse a 14.1 with 39's thats fast. Most likely I will do the Edge Attitude stacked with something and I want to do that once I get the truck I sacred that once my truck is running good I wont want to lift it. What tranny upgrade did you do with the lift?
