WAskier 10-26-2004, 09:51 PM I haven't had the BFG at's on my truck but did run them on my jeep with great results. From my searches here the guys on the forum seem to be running them 30k miles without much problem. Depends on how you drive of course.

dieselman 10-27-2004, 06:06 AM Take a look at the Dunlop Rover RVXT. Not sure if it is in a 17
yet, but nice road manners and will still get you out of mud.
Very good handling in the rain. Sooooo much better than the
steeltex.
Bill Gisse 10-27-2004, 09:03 AM I've got TOYO AT's, just put them on, but guy's I know think they are better than Michilens. MASTERCRAFT AT's "C" ( BY COOPER ) are a top notch tire to. Know a couple ranchers that use MASTERCRAFT's and really punish them, They wouldn't have anything else. These guy's take thier trucks off road into the fields almost daily , lots of rocks/stones and pull loaded Goolsenecks a lot to. I wanted the MASTERCRAFT's but my dealer was out and recommended the TOYO's (265 16 75 (E) AT's) because I didn't want to wait a day.
gardnerteam 10-27-2004, 09:30 AM For the past several trucks I have tried everything I can get my hands on for tires. My trucks are heavy, run rough potholed Central American roads at high speed, spend a lot of time off road at high speed on rutted and bad roads, and run up to 25,000 miles per trip. Casings take a beating. The Toyo AT has held up best for me, although I have to winch and chain up for really bad clay based mud which I rarely encounter in Guatemala. I put a new set of Toyo AT's on when I leave, and they are toast by the time I get back 3 months later with 25,000 miles on them. But, no tire problems where I had tons of casing and bead problems with others. Toyo's come back with about 25 to 30% rubber left while everything else came back bald, some with casing showing, and most had to be changed out in Mexico as I couldn't get home on them (Mexico is almost strictly Uniroyal tires in truck sizes and Uniroyal is a poor tire). The best tire I've ever used in the HD Sumitomo, but can't get it in the size I run now. Sumitomo has the absolute best casing, but Toyo is a good second. Edited by: gardnerteam
Dmax Tim 10-27-2004, 09:52 AM REVOs suck.
No 17" LT tires only P rated.
9W3-HD 10-27-2004, 10:25 AM My vote goes to BFG's AT, for an all around, good traction, long lasting, no flats, tire, their the one.
Lightning 10-27-2004, 11:21 AM REVOs suck.
No 17" LT tires only P rated.
Revo's are the best, I have gotten 40,000+ on mine and they still have a lot of tread left. They are the best tire I have run for wet weather traction that is still a decent highway tire (not too lound). They do have the 17's, just not listed yet on the website from what I hear.
baimpala 10-27-2004, 07:29 PM I've only had my BFG A/Ts on for a week, and I absolutely love
them. They look much better than I thought. I don't know
how they will last, but according to surveys on tirerack.com, they
should be fine, and that is pretty much real experience, IMO you can't
go wrong with them. I wanted specifically a 285/70R-17, and they
fit what I needed well.
I originally wanted to go with the Mud Terrains, but was talked out of them by GMC2500HD . . . glad I listened to him.
