I noticed a gain in motor oil. Have had a strong fuel smell from under hood for a while now. Paper towel test showed fuel in oil. Was worried about post OEM CAT fuel filter and the fuss I would get from my Dealer. Took truck in last Thursday evening--service writer and diesel tech really likes the post Cat setup!! Got truck back today--8 new injectors and oil/filter change.Truck runs great and starts instantily! They said they are getting quite a few injector replacements. Only one problem with service from Dealer--mechanic stood on bumper and messed up black plastic. Itried 303 on it -but still shows his shoeprints.

Over-all a very pleasant experence from my Dealer!

Not quite sure what the "paper towel test" is--how do you do this to determine the presence of fuel oil vs: motor oil (other than the sniff test). Also have a CAT filter kit (still sitting in garage waiting installation) and like the idea of a POST FILTER for the final filtering and let the OEM get the rocks & water out. Do you use a lift pump? It's my understanding that if you go POST OEM that a lift pump is necessary whereas if you go PRE OEM it's a mute point.

thanks to everyone that participate, this a a great site and a wealth of information.

Drop oil from dipstick onto clean papertowel. If fuel is present--the spot will show two different rings after a few minutes. I do not use a lift pump and have never had any air in system issues.
