I just ordered an 2008 GMC 2500HD with the Camper Style Mirrors (DPM). I was wondering if they are power folding or manual.

Mine are manual fold.

That should make it fun to get in the garage, my doors are 9 X 8 and I know I have to watch myself with the regular mirrors on my 06 sierra.

Manual fold and manual extension. Power adjust on the top section only. Easy enough to fold in the drivers side from inside the vehicle.

One of the reasons I'm glad I have a 20' wide garage door.

I thought I was doing something good when we built the house with the larger doors last year. After pulling in and out the garage every day you just realize they are still not large enough. I guess I have to talk the wife into adding a detached garage, any suggestions on doing that.:D

Thats the only thing I liked whe I looked at the showing of the new Super Dooty Furd. Those power extend and folding mirrrors are pretty cool. Then they had to eff things up by putting the switches right up top of door where the water runs straight down on switch if you have the window rolled down a inch or so and turn hard right.

I've found that veiled hints at getting:

A. A young, blond, busty mistress
B. A red sports car
or
C. Something else

That choice 'C' becomes more popular with the wife.

Now that depends entirely on the wife. If my husband came to be and gave me those options I'd probably pick B....but hey..I know I'm not your normal chick...I drive a sports car everyday right now and before too long I'll be driving a diesel truck every day.

Yeah I am in the exact same situation with my 08 on order and was the only feature I liked on the ford. I was looking into getting an extra pair of standard power folding mirrors $$ and switching them over when I needed to tow but not sure if the switches are all there on the arm rest for the folding part. was also thinking of some how having a string on the passenger side or locating some carpeting on the garage door frames to fold them in when pulling in fowards.
All makeshift not sure why GM doesnt have this built-in.

I'm suprised that anyone doesn't make an aftermarket power kit for these mirrors, especially with them being out for 4 model years.

I think GM just needs to suck it up and add that option.

Kinda off topic but in the 07.5 and up LTZ's why do they not have rear A/C vents in the CC? these two things and another little one (rear seat heaters the SUV's have them, and I've got kids) are the 3 main reasons I'm holding off. Yes that may be silly and or stupid, but when I'm gonna pay upward of 50K for a truck, then DAMN IT I'd like to have everything covered.

I agree... the reason that these things are such cash cows for the big three is the fact they are much cheaper to produce than the prices they sell for. If a truck costs $50K, there should not be many options not included.

Production started yesterday July 16, the one that I ordered in mid-June has a TPW of Aug 20. Supposedly I have some sort of priority because of my buy back, but the dealers should have the first ones in about a month...
