Trans pressure switch E circuit stuck closed.

Sounds like some "stiction" in the valve body...

Thanks John,

Chevy dealership installed a new transmission that I supplied, said code 872 is set when they place the transmission in gear, and of course transmission is not working right. Chevy dealership gave me same explanation as you. Problem is they do not work on these transmissions. I will get it resolved, eventually.

Sounds like it's time to pull the valve body apart and look to see what is stuck...

before they go pulling it apart to far, just for kicks, have them clear the code. I have set lots of pressure switch codes when filling these up.. If you start them before there is enough fluid in them, bam a pressure switch code.. just a thought.

Thanks for the replys.

Dealership cleared codes but the minute they place tranny in gear the code is set again. Transmission manuf. said in their high performance transmission, the line pressure is high so they place a spacer between the valve body to keep a valve from sticking. The spacer must have been left off on this transmission. Their sending the dealership a spacer this morning. pending saga http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif

Update is good.

Dealership found out their Tec II was malfuntionong. Hooked another Tec II, went through the relearn driving the car. and new (race)transmission is working fine so far. We have not put any power to it yet (at the dealership- http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif ), so time will tell. with fingers crossed
