Saturday, Oct. 16th, wife and I were on our way to Larado (500 mile trip) pulling our 12000 lb fifth wheel RV. Near Brian, Texas it suddenly lost power and would not run over 25 MPH. I changed the fuel filter and restarted. It ran good a few minutes and then went back to 25 MPH. We limped into the Chevrolet dealership in Brian. (Tom Light Chevrolet) It was about 11:00 AM and they closed at 1:00 PM. Luckily they had a diesel tech on duty. He dignosed low injection pump pressure and possible injecter problem. They ordered the pump received and installed Monday. On further checking discovered injectors bad. Ordered injectors. We had got a rental vehicle Sat. and continued with our trip to Larado, came back Wednesday afternoon. The truck was sitting out finished, ready to go. Hooked back to our fifth wheel, which was parked behind their shop plugged in to electricity, came home (3-hour drive)

Great dealership - great diesel tech. His name is Paul Keller.

The service manager said they work on about 200 vehicles per month and have about two injector replacements per month.

I thought the injectors were on a 30 day back order? Are they catching up with demand? Later! Frank

My dealer somehow is able to keep one set ahead in injector supply. The ones that were ordered specifically for my truck by the vin were not scheduled to come in for two weeks after they finished my truck. They wouldn't tell me exactly how they were able to do that. But I'm happy they were able to pull a fast one to keep their customers happy! When I first took my truck in they had just used up their reserve set the day before. I only had to wait two weeks.

I'd like to have your old pump, I'm sure there was nothing wrong with it. Hey Eric, do you guys throw those out or does GM want their pumps back for core? I know the injectors have to go back.Edited by: Dr Crane
