I've been looking around here on the page for awhile now, and i've read alot. I am looking into getting a Duramax here in the near future, and have had a couple of questions. I would like to have the ZF tranny, but i have a couple of questions on upgrades. I have plans of getting into truck pulls and stuff like that, and i have wondering to upgrade it so that the clutch and flywheel could actually hold up to some HP, whats it gonna cost me. I know with the ally upgrades, its like 3 grand, whats the pirce for the manual? Pretty much what i'm trying to see is which ones goin to be cheapest to upgrade. I like to be able to run my own gears, but just worried about it holding up to the HP. Thanks.

Your required Alli upgrades will be a lot more than $3K. If you go with a Macs-Performance upgrade dual disc puller kit on a ZF6 you will get a lot more power, less slippage for less money. I just got mine at a cost of $2.3K for parts. It holds like gears !!

The 6 speed is cheaper to upgrade than the alli by far. However, keep in mind if your planning on pulling, the LLY doesn't have as many power adders as the LB7. It is going to cost you a minimum of 8G to field a competetive truck in a stock class. It is fun, but a lot of $$$.
