Is anyone aware of any tuner that would allow the Service Regen mode to be enabled to clean out a sooted DPF without having to bring it to the dealership? No need to do this yet... only 2K on my new LMM, but I run extended periods below 30MPH... just thinking ahead a bit. Love the truck so far.

From what I understand it regens, once a tank of fuel or so needed.Ive recently installed a tuner that tells when its in regen mode since I installed its all ready done this twice in one week! Before that I never noticed if it did it or not.

What tuner do you have that lets you track regens?

I'll second that question! What tuner do you have that reports Regen mode? I was initially asking about the "Service Regen" that currently can only be done at the dealership on a blocked DPF.

Bluebeast... thanks for the info... have you tried this mode? I hear you get a foot of flames out of the tail pipe when they do it at the dealership.

So will the Bully Dog let you regen the DPF, clear the codes, turn off the limp mode, and let you get on with life - all without a trip to the dealer? This could be the tuner I'm looking for.:ro)

Sierra nv- yes to all those things as far as i know. My company bought two of these trucks and i only put it on mine briefly to test it out. It is now on the other truck and the dpf burnoff has not had to be performed. I am waiting for a complete dpf delete/ programmer to come out that doesn't throw codes. RBP has an exhaust/ progammer combo w/dpf delete but i'm not convinced it will not throw codes.
I bought the bullydog for hopefully better mileage-which the other truck still gets the same:mad: but i'm convinced mileage/ high egt's will not get better until we can get rid of the dpf successfully:) Guys say they are getting better mileage with assorted tuners and they prolly are- until the regens kick in-which now with increased fuel, are happening more often.

That bullydog system will let you clean the dpf manually? My truck idles alot due to my job and have to take time out from it to drive my dpf clean. I am interested in a system like that, the GM Fleet web page said that the 4500 trucks and up have a manual regen switch and I am having my dealership that services my truck look into it for mine. Thanks and will read up on the bullydog system.

PPE just announced that their tuner now is capable of initiating this service regen mode! Now if we could only get something to show on the DIC when it is cleaning during driving... a bar graph like the one used for trailer gain would seal the deal for me. I'd like knowing when it was in regeneration mode, and an estimate of how much time is left to complete the process.

Better not get any flames out the tail pipe. If you do, the DPF is toast, and well done. Not a good thing. This is GM, Not a Furd.:)
