I had a problem with my 03 Silverado D/A This afternoon. The wife and I went into a store and locked the truck with the key- less entry, when we came out I unlocked it with the clicker, I got in and inserted the key and when I turned it on in the DIC it said unknown driver, and it would start and then die. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif None of the gauges would work and I tried OnStar it would not work, nothing would work, I tried starting 3 or 4 times still start to run and die. I called the local Chevy dealer and spoke to the service Mgr. I was told to try a different key and if it still did The same thing to let it sit with the key on for about 10 min. after about 10 minutes I heard a clicking in the dash and in the DIC it said Driver 1. I tried it again and it started right up. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif I drove straight to the dealer and they put the Tech II on and couldn't see any problem. I don't think it's the actual key's fault. I don't think the Silverado is using the chip in key technology yet. It's probably the remote. Since there are quite a few remotes out there, I wouldn't be surprise if one of them was fairly close in frequency to yours.
