So I'm in the mess of having all of them put in at the dealer and they have had it for about a week. A week without working on it due to the fact that they have no injectors. I was told that they have to get it from the manufacture, they didn't have any in town with the other dealers? Then they said that all 8 of them were to be replaced, even if only 1 was bad. Does the recall/job call for all to be replaced?

I live in VA Beach and we have a few dealers, this is a list of some of them that they could have pulled the parts from

COLONIAL CHEVROLET
PRIORITY CHEVROLET
BAY CHEVROLET CORPORATION
HALL CHEVROLET
HAMPTON MOTOR CORPORATION
CASEY CHEVROLET
DUKE CHEVROLET-PONTIAC-BUICK-CADILLAC-GMC
HUTCHENS CHEVROLET, INC.
MID-WAY CHEVROLET, INC.
CHRISTIE CHEVROLET-OLDSMOBILE
CHAMPION CHEVROLET, BUICK, PONTIAC, GMC TRUCK
VICTORY CHEVROLET-BUICK-PONTIAC
EDENTON MOTORS, INC.
WHITMORE CHEVROLET, OLDSMOBILE, PONTIAC CO.
CHAS. H. JENKINS AND CO.

DOMINION CHEVROLET-BUICK-CADILLAC SOUTHPARK
SADLER AUTO CENTER OF EMPORIA,
HERITAGE CHEVROLET, INC.
R. K. CHEVROLET, INC.
STROSNIDER CHEVROLET, INC.
R & W CHEVROLET COMPANY, INC
HOLIDAY CHEVROLET-CADILLAC, INC.
KEN HOUTZ CHEVROLET-BUICK, INC.
PERFORMANCE CHEVROLET, INC.

Do you think they could have got 8 from these dealers and had the work done/started? Maybe I shouldn't ***** its only been a week the truck has sat there with nothing been done? How long does it take to find this problem? I was told it took most of the day to figure out that the problem was the injectors????? Sorry to vent but I use my truck and not having it for more than a few days is getting to me. Has anyone got a rental out of this for there truck being down? Its hard to carry stuff on my bike!

I believe that they have to get them from GM, and only get them when they send in the testing that shows the special policy applies. My dealer did not have me leave the truck with them until they had the injectors in hand. It only took them 5 days to get them. Not sure how some dealers seem to stock them, unless they buy them, then replenish thier stock from the warranty work.

If it runs okay and your not getting fuel in the crank case, I would drive it until they are in.

Do to the labor involved to replace just one, they do all 8. Ultimately saves GM $$.

They are ship direct parts. Last I checked, they had to be ordered by VIN number. If a dealer has a set, alot of the times they arnt willing to sell them to another dealer.

Well here is an update, they have parts in and will start today. That is a week of my truck sitting on their lot with nothing being done and I was told that it wouldn't be done till Monday. How long is this job, I have know idea if they need 8 hrs but that is what they said. Anyone remember how long they took for this?

I'd be telling them to take their time and check for leaks-road test the truck etc. Last thing you need is a comeback.

My tech took about 6 hours from start to finish, and then did a road test. He said he has done it in as fast as 5. I'm sure it would take me 4 days!

Depends on how many I have been doing lately, back to back, the second set took me 3:50 from start to running. If its been awhile, average about 6 hours.

My 2003 GMC Duramax at 80,000 miles is having the hot starting trouble (cranks and cranks and cranks and, etc.). Is this the beginning of the injector problem?

If so, will the dealer balk at fixing them when he notices my edge with the attitude?

They ordered both my sets by vin. Took them two weeks each time. When its not under warranty and you have to pay they seem to pull them out of their ass. Had my truck back in 4 days that time.

My bet is on your injectors, that was my symptom. I would remove the edge before I took it in, just to avoid the argument. Mine was stock.
