How much does a 4" exhaust and aftermarket air intake reduce EGT? Most manufacturers recommend adding only 40-60 hp while towing because of EGT. Can a performance box (chip) be run in a higher level while towing? At what point does the transmission need help when towing?


Most of my towing is fairly level. Pulling a ~7800 lb TT. What level(s) could be used with stock air flow - with larger airflow? (Will add gauges before attempting!!)

Exhaust will lower EGT more than anything else.

I don't know if that is true, GSX, these trucks have very large exhausts.


BTW, the best EGT reduction I have found, is turning off the AC. Anything else that will increase IC effectiveness will also benefit it.
