Well yet another story of the dreaded injector failure.:blahblah: Was having trouble with hard start for about 4 months now, when I got back from a trip up north (32' 5th wheel still hooked to it) went out the next day to drop off the 5'er and NO START!! :wtf1: I tried the pumping up the fuel filter trick... no start. then I had to resort to the BIG NO,NO "giver the ole' wiff of starting fluid":badidea: But by what must have been a stroke of luck from GOD :angel: the Mini-Kenworth fired up! AND did not take out the glow plugs or other related components. I then dropped off the 5'er and parked it in the garage and shut it down. Went inside to call a friend that works at the "Broadway Chevrolet" dealership to see where he'd recommend me to take my truck to.(He's worked at a couple of dealerships in the area, so he'd have the inside scoop for diesel mechanics) Kelly then referred me to Phil the truck service manager and told him about my whole
ordeal. He said bring it in and we'll take care of ya. Now, I gotta get my truck started again. Starting fluid again (just a really light wiff) and again it lit up and no damage to components:D, and drove it to Broadway.
Once there they got it in and started in on it... right away, they check it for high fuel return rate and sure enough it was.(caught a free shuttle ride home)
Phil gave me a call a few hours later to let me know what was going on with my truck, and said he'd have it ready for the next day. Sure enough I received a call the next A.M. that my truck was ready.(free shuttle ride back to Broadway) Went to the shop and met with Phil, he told me everything was covered under warranty with no cost to me, NO run around what so ever (including a new fuel filter) the guys really took good care of me!:Handshake So my word of advise to anyone around the Green Bay, WI area Don't hesitate go to Broadway!!
