Go to an auto parts store and they should have a special little tool that you slide in behind the window crank and it will push that little pin out that is holding the window crank on. the tool is very cheap and it does work, not sure how the new window cranks are held on but i am assuming that they haven’t changed much over the years. i had to get one to change the crank on my work truck and change the crank on my 77' Silverado, my dad has also used the tool on some of his street rods so i think that it is a universal tool. hope this helps, good luck.

Yup, older cars use a clip to hold the crank onto the splined shaft. You need to push the clip out before yanking on the handle. The tool (a piece of sheetmetal with a slot in it) pushes on both sides of the clip to make it come off easier. I have used a drum brake adjusting tool in the past to take them off as well but it's a bit more work. It looks like a bent screwdriver if you haven't seen one. Some newer cars use screws to hold the crank on.

The tool is like $5-$8, flat with an opening in the center to surround the stem of the crank and push the clip. It is inserted under the crank handle for alignment.
