Here is the Cat fuel filter I cut....came out of the Nicktane setup I installed.

This is what it looked like after 22000 miles.....it seems to have collected a lot of debris...seemed like it had a lot of hair like material in it

This is the factory filter, the one on the right, after 18000 miles......12000 of that were with the benefit of the Nictane setup.....6000 miles without..

A Secondary fuel filter setup is definitely worth it IMHO

Your OEM looks great, the Cat filter with the hair worries me. At 12K both of my filters were shot, the Cat completely black-no hair, and OEM 2/3 black.

Maybe they are just "cat"-hairs?

You could get another 20K out of the cat 60K out of the stocker I bet.

the oem is hard to tell as you had some miles on it w/o the pre-filter.

the cat looks dirty, but not competely used up. since you aren't running lift pumps it will tend to crawl up the sides in spots like that. you could have gone longer but 22k is fine.

I agree.

I ran a similar experiment and found my OEM was not completely used up after 20K and I think I can go 30K with it. I change the CAT every 10K but this one I'm letting go to 15K to see how it looks.
