I have 2003 dmax crew w/bose, once in a while the stock radio (speakers) hum or hiss. I cannot turn off the stereo with the key or power button. the fuse must be pulled to reset the radio. Any ideas???? or similar problems?

I just have a stock stereo and speakers, but occasionally the speaker in the passenger side front door will have static. It almost sounds like the speaker is blown, but it doesn't do it all the time or on a consistent basis, and only on that speaker when it does happen. No problems with turning the radio on or off though.

all my speakers make this sound, it seems to happen when I turn up or turn down the volume, and possibly open the door or when i turn off the ignition, that is what I can recall from the five or so times it has happend to me (the first time it happened to my wife, when we had bought the truck)

I have seen radios and amplifiers go bad. I have even had some with all functions off key off everything off. and have a static noise also a pop noise at random times.
I hate doing diag on all the new communication and radio stuff. Tech assist. is of no help. I would get it in to the dealer. If its out of warranty I would get to a stero shop and get advies. Its hard to diag over the computer. hope this helps. PatrickEdited by: patrick

Other than warranty, replace the head unit with a Aftermarket unit, you'll be happier with the sound quality if you do.
