i would like to get an air pump kinda like what they use for air ride suspentions. they have several different kinds of pumps. my question is what does the duty cycle mean?? if you go here
http://www.viaircorp.com/product.html
they have several pumps, some flow more and some less but have a higher duty cycle. i am lookin at the 400c model. i also might get a 3 gallon tank for it as well.
the 450 has a 1.66 cfm at 100% duty cycle and the 400 has a 2.54 cfm at 33% duty cycle. just kinda want it because i got tired of have to bring air caddy or try and find a gas station for air after a truck pull. besides if would be nice to know that i have air when ever and where ever. thanks for the help guys.

Duty Cycle refers to the amount of time that the compressor is running (also applies to welders).

100% Duty Cycle means that it can run continuously without harming the unit.

30% Duty Cycle means that it can only run for 3 minutes out of every 10 minute period.

You need to know the cfm rating at a specific psi. If your talking about load range E tires you'll need a good sturdy unit.

they have some info kinda like that. i have 285 bfg mudders. i was thinking if i could get it to go to a high psi with a 3 gal tank, then it shouldnt have to run for very long to fill the tires up. the info they give say it will take 2 min 50 sec to fill a 3 gal tank from 0-145 psi. so i will be just maxing it out
