Couple of things: First, nobull1 told me someone told him that a possible couse of injector failure might be partially clogged fuel filters causing reduced flow of fuel to the injectors which in turn reduces the amount of cooling available to the injectors which causes them to fail. I would add that if an inj pump itself doesn't flow enough fuel, the same result would happen. However, I don't know anything about fuel return flow amounts and its effects on injector cooling. Just a thought. Second, I just got my truck back from having its third set of injectors and the tech told me he had to replace one inj sleave because it came out with one of the injectors. Does this happen a lot? Could this have been the cause of that loud hammering noise i've had since the last set of injectors was installed?

Thanks

First, I dont completely agree with the plugged filter idea. If it were plugged, it would not be able to pull enough fuel to build the pressure needed. As for the heat issue, the fuel on a hot day and a low tank will run 230 degree's. Compare this with combustion temps and its still not that bad. As for an injection pump flowing, again, wouldnt build required fuel pressure.

As for pulling the tubes with the injectors, this is very common, Wouldnt cause any effects before or after if properly reinstalled/sealed.
