Yesterday i noticed the shift indicator only working in reverse, 3rd and 1st. (square indicator) this morning the indicator only works in 3rd and the tanny acts as if in is in limp mode (somethimes). (no reverse 3rd only) but it only does this once and awhile.??? fluid looks good. I noticed the attitude showing 190% slip at a slight rpm(WTF). however, mash the peddle and everything seems fine. It has been shifting a little different as of late as well.

This is my luck, hunting season starts today and i only find out when I see an elk on the side of the road about 10 mins before legal shooting time, that i can't get the damn truck in reverse!!!!!!!!!!! luckly or unluckly it was only a spike and its a brow-tine only hunting area.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

Last week i noticed my abs light come on. but when I restart the engine the light goes away.(connected?)http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

I haven't heard about this shift indicator thing before.

do You guys have any ideas that might help????

I would believe you are in the Need of a NSBU switch. It is on the drivers side of the transmission. Try a search there is plenty of installation recommendations, part number , prices and places to purchase.

Good luck

Update:

Bad news, ses light, limp mode last night. No Matter what i tried, i couldn't get it to shift out of 3rd. 40 mph for last 15 miles home.

Good news, thanks to you guys i saved $110 over the stealer price for the new NSBU switch at the alli dealer.

Did it fix the problem? Mine had similar issues but turned out to be the pressure sensing switch under the valve body (valve body must be removed for access). A $92 item. I believe Mike L stated exactly what it was called.

I came across your post while searching info on the nsbu switch and was wondering the the same thing. I think it is too early to tell for sure. The morning I replaced the switch, the ses light went off and the shift indicator started working correctly. I think there might have been a temperature issue before, and i haven't ruled it out yet. On the mornings below 30deg. the tranny seemed fine. Soo I have yet to get everything up to temp for a long enough period. I will find out this week during another hunt for sure. I'm going to be optimistic http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif
