If i load a custom os with either efi live or hp tuners can i still read my pcm with another program the reason i ask is i want to change over to efi live but im running a custom os in hp tuners for my other car so i would like to copy my calbrations and keep tuneing the car with efi live also my buddy is currently tuneing with efi live and wants to switch to hp tuners so he needs hp tuners to read efi live files (in the pcm)

custom OS's are a product of each tuners package. If you have an OS from EFI, you will not be able to read it with HP and vice versa.

Are you sure? Once it is written to the PCM wouldnt it be loaded in registers that either software could read? The reason I question is due to the fact that I have a seen a lot of people posting Hand held tuner loads that they had read with either of the other custom applications.

What I am referring to is the DSP2 and 5 custom os's or the custom os's for the gas burners. They are different then what GM uses and cannot be read out by different software then they were written with. If you are talking about modified stock GM os's, then both software suites can read out the tune. Hand held tuners are stock GM os's that have the tables changes for more performance, they are NOT custom os's like the DSP2 and 5 and 2 bar, custom os3 and 5 for the gas buners.
