Driving around today i noticed that my outside temperature display on my rear view mirror is displaying OC anyone know what this is about and how to go about correcting it?

Mine got wacky last year, but I thought it was displaying "CAL", it took a couple of slow doughnuts in an empty parking lot to recalibrated the compass.

Your "OC" may be an "out of calibration" message. Try the doughnuts and see if that corrects it.

OC means open circuit on the temp sensor (SC would mean short circuit)

The manual has a couple pages of steps to follow to determine where the problem is--if you don't have a manual, let me know and I'll see if I can't scan a couple pages and email em to ya

I do have the manual i think, actually read over the whole thing when i bought it but i don't really remember seeing anything in there about this. I had a strange feeling is was "Open Circuit" or some kind of diagnostics message. Where is the temp sensor located or maybe i'll just hunt in the manual.

Yeah, this just happened to me on Saturday morning. Kind of wierd, compass works, temp doesn't.

Temp sensor is behind the grille, in front of the radiator and on a brace for the trans cooler. If you look through the grille just to driver's side of center and about 2/3 way down from the top, you should be able to see the 3/8" cable shield wire running to the sensor and connector clipped into the brace. the wire originates, IIRC behind the driver's DRL and should be in the cable run along the driver's side fender.

Here's what it looks like (thanks to Kennedy Diesel, taken from their "relocation tech tips"):

Usually needs temp sensor.
