I am just was wondering how many people have had their warranty voided.. I have to take my truck in its an 03 with 30,000 miles. (Surging at high speeds is why I am taking it in) The problem is that I Cracked the Rail pressure plug when I installed a Box on the truck. I was planning on taking the box off before taking it in. But will the void my warranty because of the broken plug? Kind of gives away that I had a box on it. I have heard of so many DODGE Boys taking in their trucks and them Voiding the Warranty just because of an K&N filter Ect. or because of Codes they found.

Remove the box and play dumb. They probably won't even notice. You won't have a problem.
Deny, deny, deny and don't offer any information.
Highly unlikely they will ever see it or mention it. If they do, tell
them to replace it. Tell them it could give you problems in the future http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Play dumb....very dumb. Sometimes you get a "cool" dealer that doesn't mind, but those are in the minority.
I've got an Edge/Attitude combo, but always take it out before service. Took my truck in a few weeks back, and one of the service guys just HAD to show me his truck. (A very nice '04) He had an Edge/Attitude also with the attitude in an ATS overhead mount. He very innocently asked me if I had a chip on my truck, and I said I did not, that I had looked into them, but found they "voided" the warranty. So it was a no-go.
I asked him how he got away with having a chip, he tells me the dealership doesn't mind them as long as they aren't hooked up when brought in for service. I'm thinking "yeah, right....suuuure they don't mind, because you work there" If it was me, "goodbye warranty"
After all I've read here, aftermarket intakes or exhausts don't void the warranty. Just chips/programmers.

First I'd fix it myself. They wont even notice unless they were to have to replace rail pressure sensor which might be your surging.
As far as the Cummins reference ,DMC actually put a piece of Tape on the Pump connections warning if removed you will void your warranty.
I have to think at some point GM will start to do things of "tamper proof" on perhaps the Bale Connections from the FICM .

I cannot believe GM had not done this the minute the Edge Juice showed up on the market. Just shows how slow moving GM really is !!

It would be very easy for GM to begin this "tamper proof" packaging. I think they are still enjoying the publicity 5 years later. They finally have some muscle!!
Just wait and see what they'll do when they see what Steve has been up to!!

Find a dealer you don't have to lie to.
If its a case of abuse (which it doesn't sound like) then you pay.
If not the honest dealer(there are some out there)fixs it.
I'll get off the soapbox now.

How about a place in Austin, Texas.
I bought my truck at Henna Cevrolet (http://www.henna.com/) primarily due to a good experience I had with their Service Dept with my '00 half-ton Silverado. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with their policies?
BTW - I will never return to a dealer that is closer to me because their service department lied to me about a parking brake adjustment. They wanted me to pay them ~$300 for replacing the parking brake when all it needed was a small adjustment http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif The reason I had it there was because it failed its very first safety inspection; The parking brake would not hold.Edited by: HBruns
