http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gifI am having trouble w/ my '03 H.d. duramax. When starting it would crank a bunch of times before it would fire. first thing in the morning tho. it would fire right up.

I changed the fuel filter and that solved the problem for about a week. Then it started hard starting again. I can pump the primer and can tell there is air in the system. I can pump it easily 20 times until it gets pressure, the truck will fire right up I turn it off, wait a while and the same thing happens! I will pump it until it gets hard again and it will fire right up.

The problem only effects starting, once it is running it goes like a bat outta hell!

sounds like a leak on the supply side. A vacuum/pressure gauge would help a great deal, also a scanner to watch fuel pressure while cranking...

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling it is getting air in the system somewhere, I tightened the bleeder valve thinking that was the culprit, and I looked all over the fuel lines for leaks, dry as a bone!

I guess I will take it to the dealer. It is hell to be somewhere and people are watching me trying to get my 45k truck started.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif

Well it is worse than I tought,I took it to the dealer today and they say my injectors are all bad.

They are not sure if the will honor my warranty because They can tell I had an edge tuner on it. They say they have never seen injector pressure so high.

I know and they know that the injectors is an on going problem and they would have failed w/ or without the edge tuner.

What can I do if they decide to not honor my warranty?

I really need help, what can I do to persuade them the edge was not the cause of the problem?

How did the dealer know that an Edge was installed? I was under the impression from other postings that there should be no trace of an Edge installation once it is physically removed from the truck.

If they haven't entered anything in the computer stating the warranty is void, try another dealership (with the Edge removed before visiting the dealership).

Good luck.

sorry I missed the follow up, but sounds like your initial dealer is very uneducated in the diesel world. First, the Edge will not raise rail pressure and second, there is no way to tell it was there or even see it there on the scan tool. The Edge is downstream of the PCM and thus all the data.
