What exactly is the turbo silencer?

Does it do what the name implies, quite the turbo?

Will the truck run differently if it's removed?

Sorry for all the questions, I just love the sound of the turbo!

Not all brands have them. The garrett on the Cummins does.

It's a stamped metal ring in the front of the turbo intake that helps reduce intake noise.
