Hoping this is the correct place to put this post.If not my apologies.Reading the manual and reading many of these post I have come to the conclusion that you are to wait until the squiggly line disappears on the dash. That's all fine and well ,except that most times it does not even come on.Now for my ?.How does the truck wait for the line to disappear if you are using the remote vehicle starter. It seems like it has it start right up when you hit the button on your keyring. What's going to happen in the winter time when it is probably smart to wait for a moment until you turn it over (wait until the line disappears) and it has it start right away when you push your auto vehicle start button. Thanks so much for the answers.A lot more ? coming, my first truck.

Simple. The remote start system runs a line up to the instrument cluster, and taps into the wire for the "wait to start" lamp to go out. Some actually will have a wait default of couple of seconds.

If you are in the market of one, I would highly reccomend Max Power. His step by step, with pictures, instructions darn near makes it fool proof.

his signature shows new body 2007 which has factory remote start. Basicly the rcdlr sends a request to start to the bcm which sends signal to multiple modules including the glowplug control module & ecm. glowplugs only come on if needed(coolant temp or intake temp below certain point)+ the glowplugs on the lly,lbz & lmm are extremely efficient & are usually on for less than a second so the you may not even notice the lamp on
