Just sitting here pondering about what to do with the current fuel prices...SVO or WVO conversion seems to be the ticket.

From what I gather from this forum, there are some people running with the WVO system in place. On a budget, I'm looking at different ways to do this. Obviously, there has to be a second tank/seperate lines, and a heater somewhere. Has anyone thought about using their exhaust to heat the oil?? How about running a steel line from the tank, along the exhaust to pre-heat it before sending it up to the filter. Would the oil be too hot to make this practical?? Also, wouldn't you want a seperate filtration system for the VO and Diesel? I'd like to see some plans from others who are already running WVO/SVO if it's not a problem.

'm planning on using a tiny radiator from a ford taurus that has a tranny cooler inside. I'll heat the oil in the tank with coolant and before the IP with the radiator.

That's my plan also. More important, look into filtering the WVO. It takes a lot of research.Edited by: hrjack99

It all breaks down to how you're going to work it. Are you going to buy your WVO or collect it, remove the water and filter it yourself.

It's an investment and well woth it IMO.

I too will be converting to WVO. I think the greasecar kit is probably the
best 'kit' out there. I would like to have a larger tank though. They want
an arm and a leg to make a larger tank. I was thinking of using a tank
from a c/k series truck to go along driver side between the frame rail and
driveshaft on my 1995 Suburban.
Anyone have some ideas??
