Mine have been in these ranges for the last couple of months. Wish they would just go so I could get them replaced.

How many miles and/or engine hours on your truck? Edited by: OC_DMAX

12k currently. Injectors 4 & 5, and a return line, where replaced when the truck had 900 miles on it. They said cup seals and return line where leaking. What I saw was a crankcase full of fuel and a very rough idle.

I took a couple of measurements so you can compare. Truck is an early build 2002 model, so I have the first edition of injectors. The truck has 22,604 miles with 603.2 hours on the engine. The truck has had supplemental filtration since 12,000 miles and I have always used an additive (first Stanadyne then switched to Primrose).
The first picture is in neutral:

The second picture is with the transmission in drive with brake applied.

How much do your #'s fluctuate while you watch? Mine are always bouncing +or- .3 to .5 mm.
I took a couple of measurements so you can compare. Truck is an early build 2002 model... with 603.2 hours on the engine.
How do you know the hours? I have an 02 as well and could not find an hour meter anywhere. Might be a dumb question, but I HAVE to ask. Thanks

If the 02's are the same as the 01's turn the ignition key off and
press the trip meter buttton and keep it pressed in for 4-5 seconds.
The hours will then be displayed where you would normally find your odometer readings.

Duff - TC Dmax answered your question. On the 2001-2002's, with the vehicle off, just push and hold the odometer reset button. First the total mileage will appear, then as TC Dmax indicates, after 4-5 seconds, total engine hours will appear. (Sounds like the 2003+ model years have a fancy display.)
Wanadmxsub,
When I make the measurements, the balance rates do not bounce around as much as you indicate. They may move +/- 0.10 to 0.20 maximum (most are closer to +/- 0.10) on my truck (and I would use the word drift instead of bounce, as it is a slowly varying change.)
OC_DMAX & TC DMAX,
Thanks guys, you were right on the money. I thought you could do this, but I was not holding the button in long enough. Again, thanks for the tip. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif
