I need a manual specific to the 1998 Sierra 6.5 Turbo Diesel motor.

Please provide the Title, publisher, date and vendor for the most specific applicable publication(even a link to a site would be great).I just purchased the Haynes Diesel Engine Repair Manual (seriously outdated) and the Trouble Shooting & Repairing Diesel Engines by Paul Dempsey (looks good).

I am new to the GMC Diesel scene and require the best manual possible. I bought my 1998 Sierra 2500 HD truck with 177,000 kms 3 weeks ago. I took possesion and immediatly ran into the classic PMD problems with stalling starting when hot. The dealer has ordered a Heath remote installation PMD unit which will be mounted on the front bumper. I was able to trouble shoot the problem with feed back from the GMC Diesel site and this site.

The truck is clean and excellent condition and I beleive it will work out well for me. But I know I need the best manual possible.

Please advise. Thankyou.

the best manual for these trucks, the complete truck, is the shop manual that the dealership uses. mot dealership can order them for you for bout $150.00 to $200.00 a set of 3 or 4 books I believe.

alldata.com is the most specific, comprehensive guide you can get for your truck for $25 for the first vehicle.

Look on ebay for a GM 6.5 manual. Some venders carry them too.

I agree with QM. He told me about alldata, and I subscribed to alldata and downloaded all the schematics the first day.
