I have an 02 d-max lb7 and was wondering the location of the fuel pump (too lazy to look i guess http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif). I was thinking about adding a ?Transfer fuel tank/tool box combo in the rear bed and was wondering if it could be piped into the existing fuel lines (Transfer tank has plugs in it to hook in fuel lines) and utilize the existing fuel pump? I would also add a 30 micron pre filter at the same time to cover both factory and transfer fuel tanks. Thanks John

All fuel lines up into the engine compartment are suction lines.
The fuel pumps are mounted to the engine.

30 micron?? What are you gonna use, a coffee filter? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif The factory fuel filter is 2 micron. You might consider something like the nicktane setup uses which is a 2 micron, low restriction, Cat filter.

The only "pump" is in the high pressure pump unit. The high pressure
pump with the integral lift pump is burried in the front of the engine
in the valley. It sucks fuel from the tank.

gelecon: I have a Transfer flow in bed tank, it pumps into oem tank. You dont have to cut any fuel lines. Comes with adapter to hook into oem fill neck. I put a 2mic. filter in that line so oem tank has pretty clean fuel in it. Works real nice. They may have some sort of set up like you are looking for I really dont know. I know my setup works good.

Hey Broker, where the heck are you driving? I'm just curious how many miles and injectors you have replaced?

That's quite a few trucks, why the change to powerstroke?

Ah! At first I thought "what the heck?" but that's a cutaway of the LP pump showing the pump gears!

Here's the rest (and it's Hoot's picture, too!):
